It's a STAMPlorations REVEAL - The Color Blooms Coloring Book for Card Makers and Scrapbookers

Happy Day everyone... And WELCOME To the STAMPlorations Blog Hop and Linky Party for the Color Blooms: The Coloring Book For Cardmakers, Krafters and Mixed Media Artists!!!
This book is different from other coloring books because it was designed so that the completed coloring pages can be turned into cards or scrapbook layouts or any number of creative projects.

Because if you are like me, you pour your artistic soul into creating an amazing page, and then what?  Most of us just turn the page, leaving it in the book hidden from view. Well let me show you what I did with my finished page, I created these four amazing items!

Now about my processI selected a page that had four similar panels...

and used my Copic markers, choosing four light-to-dark colors in the yellow to orange family group.  I randomly added strokes of color to the petals trying not to over think the process or worry about perfection because, after all, it IS the background.  I chose a complimentary color for the background and then added a bit of shadow around the flowers to make them pop off the page...

When I was finished coloring I cut out each piece and ran them through my Xyron Creative Station 5" Sticker Maker

and mounted them on card stock to  create these four backgrounds - all from just one page!
And as I was sticking them down I realized that these backgrounds paired perfectly with my new STAMPlorations The Birds and The Blooms stamp so I stamped a few images and used my brand new Prismacolor Scholar pencil crayons to color them in.  The soft leads and vibrant pigments in these pencils layer and blend colors so beautifully that I liked them even better than my Copic markers.

So come check out the blog hop and linky party we are having over at STAMPlorations HERE where you can check out what some of the other design team created with their pages and where you can access a free,  down-loadable coloring page for you to color and create with and link up for more chances at prizes!!

It's A This and That Day Today For WOYWW #377 (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday)

Hello and Good Morning Blogland Peeps... Today, for the 377th What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday  over at the Stamping Ground I am sharing a bit of "This and That" which is going on in my life right now... Firstly, here are some blurry pics of my workspaces:
Blurry because it is still dark now at 5:00 am in the morning here in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, Canada...
Messy, because I have been cranking out work non-stop to meet my design team commitments as well as getting those five canvases ready for my first Student/Teacher Art Show (I am a student.  The poster for the event arrived this week...
And YES! That is my canvas in the centre of the poster... that was a Happy Day!  And  More Happy... this wonderful little packet arrived from Dorlene Durham - check out her blog Crafts In The Comand Center), she sent me these hollyhock seeds from her garden in California.  They arrived in this beautiful envelope she created... Thank YOU Dorlene... I will be planting them in our garden this spring!
And the other Happy Mail I want to share is this wonderful card that arrived from a lovely new team member on my Susan Weckesser Creative Team; Ms. Debra Davison (check out her blog: Meticulosity)  I love that she created this card from paint sample chips from the hardware store!
Thank you Debra and Dorlene... your kindness really made a difference in my world this month as I try and focus on the those "little things" that are really "Big Things" as I try and make sense out of an unexpected loss of someone who was a both friend and a huge influence in both my personal and art life.   The empty space she has left in my world is very large, and I am trying to come to terms with a World with out her in it.  Here is a wonderful little video created by a local TV station which showcases Christy's wonderful personality; she had a big smile, an infectious laugh, a huge heart and an even bigger talent - it was too soon!
So with a sad and heavy heart I am signing off and trying to keep my perspective by focusing on the Simple things today.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #66 - "H" is for Hounds

Happy daaay Everyone... today over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers our challenge is "H" is for HOUNDS... now who doesn't love a good dog card?  But it turns out that in my collection of hundreds of stamps I do not have a good a dog stamp - REALLY?! So what does this Girl do?  Well, she searches on-line for a free Dog digi (digital stamp).
And not only do I find a FREE digi that is Exactly What I Need... but I also find a wonderful, new-to-me stamp store  called Tiddly Inks.  I downloaded ALL the Tiddly Inks free digital stamps offered and even spent a whopping $4.01 to buy a few more.  I think I may be going back... Grin... And here is  my card:

 Wait for it....
Ha!ha!ha!... This is my very favorite Groucho Marxx quote... Giggle.

I fell in love with this wee doggy digi, which I colored with my Copic markers and then added furry details with my brand new Prismacolor Pencil Crayons.  (I purchased this 60-crayon set on-line from Amazon.ca for only $20 and the colors are beautiful and the soft leads blend as well as the expensive set - Swoon).

These pencils layed down color so beautifully that I filled in my books using only these crayons.  Of course I fussy cut out both the books and the Doggy and used foam pop dots to mount them onto a card base, and I enhanced the sparkle in his eye with Some Close To My Heart Liquid Glass.

So why not join us this week over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers?  You  have until midnight, September 2nd to link up your doggie-related project for a chance to be selected as the Queen of Snark or one of her Princesses... Blog Candy is to be had!
As always, thanks for popping by to see what I am up to, and please do leave me a comment if you like what you see!

An Art Journal Page - "And Then She Goes Home."

Hello Everyone - Today I Am sharing another of my art journal pages with you.  This month Susan Weckesser encouraged her Creative Team over on the My Sweet Earth Blog to see our world with new eyes with a focus on our own backyards and our gardens. Now this resonated with me on such a very deep level as I am spending the first year in our new home, one that we hope to be in until we are ready to move into assisted living (in about 30 years - we Hope!).  So here is the two-page spread I created:
The inspiration for this came from the quote I used which really did say it perfectly for me...
I have been fortunate to have been able to travel to many wonderful places in our beautiful world, making Art and friends along the way, but at the end of each "journey nto the World" I Always Come Home.
And to me My Home is still the place I love the most in this World!
Our Front Yard with Cherry Tree in Full Bloom

And the back of the house (I am standing in our vegetable garden)
So Why don't you go out into your own backyard and see what you can see With New Eyes and then come back inside and make your own Art Journal page!
